It’s hard to believe that the Class of 2026’s time at Frassati Catholic is nearing its end! As the seniors enter their final days of high school, they now look toward the legacy they will leave at Frassati Catholic. Over the past months the seniors have been planning their class gift. Among many excellent choices, the class voted to expand our flag area at St. Michael the Archangel Field, adding two new flagpoles to fly the Texas and Vatican flags, and install a plaque and minor landscaping. These two flags will flank the American flag laid by Frassati Catholic Eagle Scout, Luke Lazenby '28. This gift would include the flags, plaque, minor landscaping, and, funds depending, lights to shine on the flags 24/7.
To successfully complete their class gift, they have set a participation goal of 100% involvement across the class and a monetary goal of between $8K-$10K to purchase the flag poles (~$3000 ea.), a standing plaque (~$1000), and landscaping/lighting ($3000-5000). We can reach our fundraising goal with 100% student participation and an average gift of $100-150 per student.
The goal of the class gift is primarily philanthropic. Our hope is that this gift becomes the first step in what will be a lifetime of generosity to parishes, organizations, and more. We encourage them to make their gift from earnings from a job, babysitting, individual fundraising among their family members, or even skipping lattes for a few weeks.
As parents, consider a few things to support this effort:
1. Talk to your students about the importance of giving back
2. Encourage your student to participate
3. MATCH your child’s gift
The legacy gift the students make to the high school will be something they can be proud of each time they visit campus as alumni. Let’s support them in their effort in thanksgiving for the incredible gift of Frassati Catholic High School.
Verso l’alto!
